We are all familiar with the crippling fear of childhood where we imagine all manner of monsters in dark places. We all claim to have outgrown them in adulthood, but a certain photographer thinks otherwise.
With some help from his own children, a Kansas City-based photographer, Joshua Hoffine gives life to the chilling images we create in our heads with his version of horror photography. By exploring the idea that fear supposedly loses its intensity as we age, he makes makes it abundantly clear that confrontation with those nightmares is just as haunting in adulthood as it was when we were kids.
