Giant rats that invaded slums in Britain have attacked an infant as he was sleeping. The horrified screams of the baby as he was being bitten brought his parents to the scene.
The terrified parents after rescuing their child rushed him to their GP to check the rat had not passed on any deadly germs, or the dreaded Weil disease which some rats spread through their urine
Pest experts say many rodents have mutated to become immune to shop-bought poisons and have grown up to 2ft long.
In addition to this scare, experts also fear that two hundred million rats will swarm across Britain this summer.
Now the furious parents, who haven’t been named, have protested about the terrifying attack on their baby at their rented house in Aldershot, Hants.
They marched into a ‘surgery’ session run by Coun David Clifford, leader of Rushmoor Borough Council, who announced today he is ‘declaring war on slum landlords’.
He said he was appalled to hear from the distressed parents about their horrific housing conditions.
They told him it was so bad at their home that there’s a plague of voracious rats and their baby had been bitten.
