Three people are dead after a man allegedly stabbed two people and jumped to his death from the balcony of an 11th-floor high-rise flat. The incident happened at Donside Court in the Tillydrone area of the city.
Police were called to the 19-storey flat when residents noticed that someone has fallen from the balcony, but two more bodies were discovered in the house when the police went up to the flat.
Armed response vehicles, police cars and several ambulances quickly arrived at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed they were initially investigating reports that someone had fallen from the building.
Neighbour Susan Smith told the BBC that police initially went up to the flat carrying what looked like a battering ram.
"The police actually went in with a great thing like a battering ram at one point. Then they went in with stretchers and a chair thing - and came out with them empty."
Detective Superintendent Dave McLaren, from Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: "As a result of this incident three persons are now known to have died.
