Pokémon GO players are being warned to put their safety first after a group of youths took a rowing boat without permission and set off in pursuit of a tiny monster across a LAKE.
The incident, at New Brighton marine lake in Wallasey, Wirral, has been reported by the UK Coastguard which says it was called out in the early hours of this Tuesday morning.
Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team and the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene – but the youths had already left, leaving the rowing boat drifting in the middle of the marina.
Posting on the Maritime and Coastguard Agency's Facebook page , a spokesperson said: "Catching Pokémon took a not-so-fun turn when the UK Coastguard was called to investigate reports of a group of twenty youths taking a rowing boat without permission to chase a Pokémon across New Brighton marine lake."
