A Canadian family awoke to find that a bear had ransacked a car parked in front of their home and eaten a box of protein bars.
North Vancouver RCMP shared photos of the incident in which the bear broke the car's windows, attempted to pry open the doors and ripped up the interior.
While the family did not witness the bear's break-in paw prints, claw marks, fur and the missing protein bars led police to believe the bear had been looking for a meal.
"This is the second such related incident reported on the North Shore in the last several days," North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong said. "The message to not leave any food items at all in your vehicle is one worth repeating. Bears have a very keen sense of smell and incredible strength enabling them to cause the damage they do!"
