One-year-old baby has sewing needle removed from throat
A video has emerged of the moment Chinese doctors extracted a 4cm sewing needle from the throat of a one-year-old baby.

According to reports, the child had swallowed the needle, although it is not clear how.

A graphic X-ray shows the needle firmly lodged in the child's throat before surgeons inserted a camera and removed the sharp object.

After being removed, doctors found the needle measured a whopping 4cm, almost the height of a golf tee.
The delicate operation was performed at a hospital in Feng Cheng Ba Lu, in the Weiyang Qu province of Xi'an City in China.

According to local media reports, the surgery lasted just 30 seconds and the little girl is now fully recovered after her ordeal.
