On December 10, residents of
Westonnen in Germany woke up to their streets paved in chocolate, though it’s
not Christmas yet.
In what can be described as
a delicious accident that occurred at a chocolate factory, a chocolate storage
tank overflowed causing the gooey liquid to flow into the streets.
The Fire Brigade in the area
said a storage tank at the DreiMeister chocolate factory spilled about one ton
of chocolate Monday and the liquid streamed through the gates outside the
factory and into a road, presenting an odd sight to the locals.
In the morning hours, they
found that the liquid has solidified into a 33-square-foot "choco-pancake"
that firefighter pried up from the ground using shovels and muscle
power.
The accident did not cause a
major setback for the chocolate company, and the company spokesperson said that
they would be able to recover from the loss before Christmas.
